A Familiar Face with a Wink of Colour
Longines expands PrimaLuna with cloisonné moonphase dials and refined new models that balance craftsmanship, colour and clarity.
Longines has expanded its PrimaLuna collection with a series of new models that bring fresh dial treatments, colour palettes and movement options to one of the maison’s most recognisable designs.
First launched in 2009, PrimaLuna has long appealed to women who value a graceful profile and a clear sense of refinement. This latest development respects that identity while introducing greater visual and technical range.
A key addition is the introduction of cloisonné dials to the 34 mm moonphase models. The technique uses fine metal wires to define subtle areas of colour across a mother-of-pearl dial, resulting in a surface with pleasing texture and depth.
Longines has chosen two tonal directions for these pieces: a rich blue and a vivid green. Both shades catch the light in a way that feels calm rather than ostentatious.
Inside, the watches are powered by the automatic calibre L899.5, which includes the brand’s silicon balance spring for improved stability and is presented with the familiar moonphase display at six o’clock.
The collection also now includes new three-hand automatic references, also in 34 mm. Here, the focus is clarity. The dial layouts are clean, the hour markers simple, and the overall impression is of a watch designed to be worn regularly rather than saved for particular occasions.
These models house the Longines calibre L888.5, which offers a 72-hour power reserve and anti-magnetic properties.
For those who prefer a smaller format, Longines has introduced 30 mm quartz models in a considered range of seasonal tones. The mint blue and lavender mauve dials are especially noteworthy, each finished with a sunray effect and set with fifteen diamond hour markers.
The colours are current but not fleeting. They work with neutrals and evening pieces equally well, which gives these watches easy versatility.
Across all versions, the defining PrimaLuna case profile remains unchanged. The rounded, seamless lines and integrated bracelet give the watch its recognisable character.
This consistency is important. While dial finishes and movement options evolve, the overall identity of the collection stays grounded in proportion, comfort and understated elegance.
Longines continues to back its automatic models with a five-year guarantee, reflecting the stability of its movements and its ongoing work with advanced materials such as silicon.
The result is a collection that feels quietly confident. It does not chase novelty for its own sake, but refines details that matter to the wearer: colour, texture, movement and feel on the wrist.
The new PrimaLuna additions will appeal to women who want a watch that feels personal rather than performative, and who recognise quality in the subtleties of finish and proportion. It is a thoughtful evolution of a collection that has already earned its place in the Longines portfolio.
