Armin Strom Introduces the Dual Time GMT Resonance in Rose Gold
Armin Strom’s Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold blends two time zones, patented resonance, and 18K gold in a 39 mm limited edition.
Independent Swiss manufacture Armin Strom expands its celebrated Dual Time GMT Resonance collection with a new limited edition in 18K rose gold, combining technical virtuosity with a warmer, more opulent aesthetic. Limited to just 50 pieces worldwide, the Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold reinterprets the brand’s signature complication in a refined 39 mm case crafted from the precious alloy for the first time.
Two Time Zones, One Golden Standard
The new edition preserves the architectural clarity that defines the Dual Time GMT Resonance line while introducing a striking tonal evolution. The 18K rose gold case frames a black gold, coloured grenage dial, accented by black azurage chapter rings that distinctly separate the two time zones. Rose gold coloured, polished and faceted hands and applied indexes provide contrast and legibility, while anthracite alligator leather with subtle grey stitching completes the sophisticated palette.
The balanced dial layout highlights the mechanical choreography beneath, staying true to the brand’s philosophy of transparency and open-worked design.
Resonance Across Time Zones
At the heart of the watch beats the in-house, manual-winding Calibre ARF22, entirely designed, developed and manufactured by Armin Strom. The movement’s defining innovation is the brand’s patented resonance clutch, which mechanically synchronises two independent regulating systems.
Unlike traditional dual-time watches, this system allows both balance wheels to oscillate in harmony through the phenomenon of resonance. The result is not only improved chronometric stability but also a dynamic, three-dimensional display of two balances interacting in real time; a rare and visually captivating spectacle on the dial side.
Each time zone is fully independent, featuring its own hours, minutes and day/night indicator, making the watch particularly intuitive for frequent travellers. Operating at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour) and delivering a 42-hour power reserve, the ARF22 transforms resonance from a scientific curiosity into a practical GMT complication.
Finishing in Motion
Visible through sapphire crystals on both front and back, the movement showcases a meticulous blend of traditional hand-finishing and contemporary mechanical engineering. On the dial side, engraved and mirror-polished day/night indicators depicting the sun and moon sit at 6 o’clock on each subdial. Hand-polished bevels, black-polished steel elements, circular graining and perlage enhance the visual depth.
Turning the watch over reveals Côtes de Genève across the bridges, underscoring the manufacture’s commitment to haute horlogerie standards. In keeping with company tradition, each timepiece is assembled twice, once to ensure mechanical precision and again after finishing, guaranteeing both performance and aesthetic perfection.
The Science of Movement
Founded in 1967 and revitalised in 2009 by master watchmaker Claude Greisler and entrepreneur Serge Michel, Armin Strom has built its reputation on exposing and celebrating the mechanics of watchmaking. From its manufacture in Biel/Bienne, the independent brand continues to blend Swiss-German horological tradition with contemporary innovation.
With the Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold, the brand offers collectors a rare fusion of scientific ingenuity and precious-metal refinement; two time zones, synchronised in golden harmony.
