TAG Heuer’s partnership with Ayrton Senna has produced many memorable tributes, but this latest pair of Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna models feels particularly considered.

Revealed during the São Paulo Grand Prix, the watches capture two sides of Senna’s personality, the racer driven by precision and the man defined by grace under pressure, while reflecting the maison’s ongoing Designed to Win philosophy.

The collaboration between TAG Heuer and Senna began in 1988, when the Brazilian champion first wore the brand’s S/EL chronograph. What started as an ambassador relationship evolved into one of the most enduring alliances in both sport and watchmaking.

It now represents shared values of resilience, mastery and purpose, extending beyond competition to benefit the Instituto Ayrton Senna, the foundation supporting education initiatives throughout Brazil.

Bianca Senna, Ayrton’s niece and CEO of the Senna Brand, has helped shape recent designs to ensure they remain authentic to his values. Her involvement brings a familial warmth to a collaboration that could easily have been purely commemorative.

Instead, each piece feels alive with the same drive that defined Senna’s life on and off the track.

The Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna 44 mm is powered by the automatic Calibre 16 and constructed with a sandblasted grade 2 titanium case finished in black DLC. The result is a piece that feels strong but remains lightweight.

Its forged carbon tachymeter bezel carries Senna’s signature “S” at twelve, while flashes of yellow on the crown and the ring between case and bezel recall the colours of his helmet.

The black sunray dial balances sport and precision. The 12 o’clock chronograph register uses a yellow lacquered hand, the 6 o’clock counter bears the tones of the Brazilian flag, and the 9 o’clock running seconds features Senna’s emblem. Skeletonised hands and rhodium-plated indexes, treated with Super-LumiNova, ensure clarity in all conditions.

The engraved caseback depicting Senna’s eyes behind his visor adds a quiet note of intensity. The watch is fitted to a vivid yellow rubber strap and presented in blue packaging with a travel pouch. Water resistance is rated to 200 metres, and the retail price is set at 5,550 Swiss francs with deliveries beginning in November 2025.

The second piece, the Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna 43 mm, reintroduces the S/EL bracelet that became synonymous with Senna himself. The interlocking steel links retain their flowing profile, a design that defined late-eighties ergonomics and continues to look contemporary today.

The black sunray-brushed dial features green and yellow accents across three registers: a small seconds at three, a tenth-of-a-second counter at six with a red hand, and a 30-minute counter at nine with yellow detailing.

A black aluminium tachymeter bezel engraved with “SENNA” crowns the case, while the crown and pushers are coated in black DLC for durability. Water resistance matches the automatic at 200 metres.

Limited to 3,000 pieces, the model is available from November 2025 at 2,550 Swiss francs. It offers a more classic interpretation of the Senna spirit; purposeful, refined and effortless on the wrist.

Senna once said, “I’m not designed to come second or third. I’m designed to win.” TAG Heuer’s latest Senna releases embody that same conviction. Each reference translates competitive excellence into wearable form; one through contemporary materials and bold engineering, the other through timeless design and quiet assurance.

For collectors who value watches with genuine lineage and intent, these two Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna models stand as reminders that performance and emotion are not opposites but partners. They honour a man who raced without compromise and a watchmaker who continues to measure time by the same standard.
