To mark the seventy-fifth anniversary of Ahmed Seddiqi, BOVET has created a limited edition Récital 30 that blends cultural nuance with a genuinely useful take on world time.
Only seven pieces will be produced, each dedicated to one of the Emirates and distinguished by an Eastern Arabic numeral on the dial and on the movement rotor. Emirates appears in Arabic and in red on the city roller, with colours drawn from the national flag used sparingly across the design.
The centrepiece of this model is its solution to a long-standing weakness of world time watches. Because countries adopt daylight saving in different ways, traditional world timers become inaccurate for parts of the year.
BOVET counters this with a roller system that lets the wearer shift all twenty-four time zones into one of four seasonal settings at the push of a button. A second pusher advances the central twenty-four-hour disk. The mechanism is intuitive and makes the complication relevant for frequent travellers.
The watch is housed in BOVET’s Dimier case, offered in red gold or grade five titanium. This is the first time the manufacture has produced its titanium cases entirely in-house, allowing closer control over form and finish.
Inside is a three-hundred and seventy-three component calibre with a sixty-two-hour power reserve. The Dubai green guilloché surrounding the day-night indicator and the matching straps give the watch a contemporary tone without distracting from its classical structure.
Across the Récital family, BOVET has often explored celestial themes. Here, the focus turns to the practical realities of timekeeping across borders. The result is a concise, thoughtful anniversary edition that feels rooted in the region it honours while offering a clear technical purpose.
