The New Tissot Visodate
Tissot Visodate blends mid century design with modern mechanics, featuring a clear date display, refined proportions and an 80 hour automatic movement.
The Tissot Visodate returns as a refined interpretation of one of the brand’s most enduring designs, combining mid-century elegance with modern watchmaking improvements.
Rooted in a history that dates back to 1954, it remains defined by its clear and practical date display, a feature that was once considered forward thinking and still feels relevant today.
What makes the Visodate special is its balance between heritage and usability. Its design stays true to the original with a domed dial, slim proportions and clean layout, while subtle updates in materials and finishing bring it in line with contemporary expectations.
The signature date window at three o’clock continues to deliver immediate legibility, preserving the model’s original purpose.
The watch is powered by a modern automatic movement that offers up to eighty hours of power reserve, ensuring reliability over extended wear.
A transparent case back reveals the movement, while a Nivachron balance spring improves resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variations, enhancing long term precision.
Wearability is central to the Visodate’s appeal. Its thirty-nine millimetre case and curved sapphire crystal create a comfortable presence on the wrist, making it suited to daily use. The dial details, including dauphine hands and subtle finishing, contribute to a sense of depth while maintaining clarity.
Three variations express different facets of the design. Silver with gold toned accents offers a more classic aesthetic, blue introduces a modern and vibrant tone, while black delivers a clean and understated look.
Despite these differences, each version shares the same focus on proportion, readability and restrained elegance.
The Visodate stands as a continuation of Tissot’s early innovation in date displays, bringing together historical identity and modern performance in a watch designed for everyday life.
