The Watch That Refused to Behave Normally
Ulysse Nardin introduces the Freak S Enamel, where advanced watchmaking meets handcrafted enamel in two striking limited editions.
Ulysse Nardin has never treated the Freak as a traditional watch, and the new Freak S Enamel continues that approach with quietly confident refinement.
Offered in two limited series of fifty pieces, the latest edition introduces rotating enamel hour discs in either a vivid turquoise or deep red, produced by the artisans of Donzé Cadrans.

The enamel is created through a demanding sequence of hand grinding, layering, firing, and polishing. Each disc must remain perfectly true, as it is a working mechanical element rather than a static decoration. The result has a richness and luminosity that shifts subtly as the disc turns.
Beneath this surface lies the UN 251 calibre, a movement built across six levels to support twin inclined silicon balance wheels connected by a miniature vertical differential.

Almost every component participates in the motion that defines the Freak family, giving the watch its distinctive sense of mechanical theatre. Energy is delivered through the patented Grinder winding system, designed for maximum efficiency, aided by ceramic bearings and a low-frequency dual oscillator.
The titanium case keeps the watch light and modern, ensuring that the architecture of the movement remains the focus. Despite the technical complexity, the overall impression is clear and cohesive.

The Freak S Enamel brings together two disciplines that rarely meet: advanced micromechanics and one of the oldest decorative arts. In doing so, it adds a new dimension to a watch that has been challenging expectations for nearly twenty-five years.
