OMEGA’s fascination with the Moon continues with a bold new chapter in its celebrated Speedmaster story. The brand introduces seven striking models across four dial designs, each one a showcase of refined ceramic engineering, contemporary design and horological innovation.
Offered on newly designed rubber and nylon straps, the collection reveals years of research distilled into sleeker cases, advanced Co-Axial calibres, and a level of finish that blurs the line between science and artistry.

From Lunar Orbit to Legend
In December 1968, Apollo 8 became the first crewed mission to orbit the Moon. As command module pilot Jim Lovell radioed “we’ll see you on the other side” before disappearing behind the lunar horizon, each astronaut carried an OMEGA Speedmaster, a companion built for the unknown.
That legacy still fuels the brand’s creative drive. The new Dark and Grey Side of the Moon collection channels the same pioneering energy, reinterpreting the Moonwatch spirit through the lens of twenty-first-century materials and design.

Twelve years after the first Dark Side of the Moon captured collectors’ imaginations, this 2025 evolution marks a defining leap forward in both form and function.
Ceramic Innovation, Elevated
Each case begins as a solid block of ceramic, then undergoes a series of precision processes to achieve flawless bevels, mirror finishes and deep, light-catching surfaces. Refined proportions create a slimmer silhouette while retaining the commanding 44.25 mm profile that defines the series.
The use of Liquidmetal™ for bezels and crowns enhances both durability and texture, while new dual-layer ceramic dials introduce striking depth and play of light. The result is a collection that feels tactile and architectural; technical mastery translated into beauty.
Four Distinct Expressions
Within this cohesive family, every model offers a unique interpretation of OMEGA’s lunar legacy:
- Black Edition Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9908 – a refined, manually wound chronograph with a matte black dial, red central hand and understated grey accents, housed in a sleeker, more ergonomic case.
- Reimagined Dark Side of the Moon – powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9900, with a laser-brushed two-plate ceramic dial and a Liquidmetal™ tachymeter scale that adds a subtle metallic sheen.
- All-Black Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9900 – an intense monochrome piece with darkened movement components, enamel tachymeter scale and diamond-polished indexes glowing with Super-LumiNova.
- Apollo 8 Tribute – an homage to the astronauts who first glimpsed the Moon’s hidden face. Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869, it features a laser-engraved lunar surface seen through the skeletonised grey dial and sapphire caseback; a poetic recreation of the near and far sides of the Moon.
Straps Inspired by Space
The innovation extends beyond the case. OMEGA’s new straps combine practicality with elegance: nylon versions feature soft rubber linings for enhanced comfort, while the rubber straps are embossed with a lunar-surface texture on the underside; a subtle nod to the brand’s cosmic muse.
